Biography
Carol L. Smith joined the DePauw community in 1994 and has been involved with various information technology programs and initiatives at the University.
As Chief Information Officer and leader of the Information Services division, Carol’s role is to ensure that effective, appropriate, and sustainable information resources, services, and technologies are available to enable all students, faculty members, and staff members of the university community.
Carol earned her undergraduate degree from DePauw (1985) and her master’s degree in instruction systems technology from Indiana University School of Education (2001). She was a member of the 2011 EDUCAUSE conference program committee, is a current member of the Consortium of Liberal Arts Colleges (CLAC) Board of Directors, has served on the board of directors of the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunication System (IHETS), and is a frequent presenter at conferences and active member of several professional organizations, including EDUCAUSE, CLAC, NITLE, and the Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI). Carol is currently serving as a faculty member for the annual EDUCAUSE Leadership Institute Program.
