Biography

Ioannis Livanis received his PhD in political science from the University of Florida (2010). He writes and teaches about intergovernmental relations and governance, with a particular focus on compliance with agreements at the local (intra-organizational) and systemic (international) levels. His work incorporates elements from U.S. regulatory federalism, public policy and administration, bureaucratic politics, international relations, comparative politics, and economics, in studying the effects of the European Union on its members and regional partners, as it pertains to policy compliance in general, and environmental policy in particular.
