Biography
Jessica A. Love Jordan, PhD, LCPC, NCC, CADC, is a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) and board-certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) in the state of Illinois. Dr. Love Jordan is passionate about providing education & training focused on helping clinicians enhance their knowledge, skills, and capacity for effectively addressing substance use and mental health disorders. She has presented at national and regional conferences, coordinated facilitated professional and community-based training and advocacy initiatives, and has contributed to professional literature, including NAADAC’s “Advances in Addiction & Recovery”. Dr. Love Jordan earned her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision and MHS in Addictions Studies from Governors State University.
Dr. Love Jordan’s research agenda centers on culturally responsive practices in behavioral health care, with a particular emphasis on individuals with marginalized identities, including those managing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. She is dedicated to (a) investigating effective strategies for integrating culturally responsive practices into behavioral health services, and (b) developing and implementing these approaches into training programs for counselors and peer recovery support specialists. Key areas of interest include addressing the training needs of clinicians in co-occurring disorders, fostering interprofessional education on addiction and co-occurring disorders, and enhancing behavioral health treatment for Black and other women of color, as well as emerging adult populations.
