Biography

Dr. Krista E. Wood is a Professor of Physics in the Department of Mathematics, Physics, & Computer Science at UC Blue Ash College. Prior to coming to the University of Cincinnati, she taught high school physics and worked as an engineer in the automotive industry. She earned her PhD focusing on Physics Education Research. Her research interests include student development of scientific reasoning, as well as the effects of research-based instructional strategies on student learning in physics. She received UC Blue Ash Distinguished Teaching Award (2022), was inducted into UC's Academy of Fellows for Teaching and Learning (2017), is a graduate of UC Women Lead (2017), an eLearning Champion (2016) and a certified Quality Matters Peer Reviewer (2018). Dr. Krista Wood is co-leading professional development for two cohorts of new Two-Year College Physics faculty and two cohorts of Leadership Institute with the Organization of Physics for Two-Year Colleges (OPTYCs).
