Biography

With a Ph.D. in Environmental Planning and over two decades of professional experience spanning education, research, and management, my expertise encompasses sustainability analysis, environmental assessment, and the evaluation impacts within the framework of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria including specialization in land use and land cover planning, using remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) techniques. A key milestone in my career is the founding of Gullele Botanic Garden, established as a joint initiative between the Addis Ababa City government and Addis Ababa University, reflecting my deep commitment to biodiversity conservation, highlighting my participatory research approach and ability to build collaborations across diverse agencies and academic institutions, driving capacity-building and knowledge-sharing initiatives. My approach is detail-oriented and focused on managing multiple tasks efficiently, optimizing resources for scalable operations. The integration of planning, problem-solving, research, and leadership skills—anchored in my multidisciplinary background—enables a comprehensive and holistic approach to addressing complex environmental challenges.
