Biography
Mr. Szymoniak is a registered professional engineer with over 28 years of engineering and professional experience. He has managed and led many design and construction teams on a variety of civil projects throughout the United States. He was recently a project manager for WHPacific in the Richland Washington where he managed projects at the Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Site. Prior to this Tom was a project manager and construction coordinator with the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) in Bend. For ODOT, Tom participated in many design and construction projects in Central Oregon which included bridges and highway improvements. He also has extensive experience in design and construction of environmental remediation solutions involving contaminated groundwater, soils and sediments. As a geotechnical engineer, Tom was involved in several major landslide corrections, designed hazardous and municipal solid waste landfills, and completed numerous pavement designs for heavy industrial yards, highways and streets. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Engineers without Borders and the Construction Managers Association of America. His area of interest includes sustainable design, water resources, slope stability, and materials.
