The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE), an accredited program, offers a four-year program of study leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME). Graduate degrees offered are the Master of Science and the Master of Engineering in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. The department also offers a Master of Engineering program emphasizing design and manufacturing. The MAE Department houses modern, well-equipped laboratories dedicated to undergraduate, graduate and research programs. The mission of the department is to offer quality undergraduate and graduate education designed to prepare students for challenges faced in their entire professional and academic careers. - Strong emphasis on the quality of undergraduate education - Nationally-recognized faculty teach most courses - Additional faculty-student contact through advising and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels - Unique opportunities to work on projects sponsored by industry, and competitions sponsored by national engineering organizations - Well-established cooperative education and internship programs allow students to work in the industry while attending school - Opportunity to work on funded research projects with faculty - Integrated five-year BS/MS program
