Community Foundation of West Georgia

Over twenty years ago, seven people sat at a table to create the Community Foundation of West Georgia with the goal to improve the community and help people do better with their giving. Sparked by a remarkable challenge from a local donor: raise $4 million by the spring of 2003 in order to receive a match of $3 million. The challenge was met in a short 6 months! Today, the Foundation has surpassed the impact anyone could have envisioned! Since those early days, $112 million has been granted by the Foundation to over 240 nonprofits in Carroll, Haralson and Heard counties. Because of your continued generosity, our community continues to thrive. As we begin 2024, we look forward to continuing to accelerate social innovation, and rally around important issues. We look forward to partnering with you in the next twenty years!
