Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA) Strategic Plan Overview Delivering microelectronics solutions to meet the needs of the Department is the mission of Defense Microelectronics Activity. Our microelectronics professionals provide critical products, services and expertise to support defense operations and deliver weapon systems readiness. They also ensure sustainment of legacy capabilities to offer a cost effective alternative throughout the service life of a wide range of weapons systems. This plan aligns our strategic goals with the National Defense Strategy, the Secretary of Defense’s Priorities and USD (Acquisition and Sustainment) goals and priorities, and translates these goals into specific objectives and lines of effort. Important elements of this Strategic Plan are the outcome-based measures of performance to drive and gauge progress toward planned outcomes. This Strategic Plan prompts responsiveness by expressing clear short and long term goals that are specific, measurable, attainable and time-based. These goals represent focus areas that align customer needs with organizational capabilities to shape actions and resourcing decisions throughout the DoD microelectronics enterprise.
