Department of Political Science and Geography

The Department of Political Science and Geography at Old Dominion University is a vibrant community of students, educators, scholars, practitioners, activists and engaged citizens. With a core of 20 full-time faculty, leading at frontiers of research, we offer majors, minors and certificates in geography and political science, unmatched by any other university in the region. ODU Department of Political Science and Geography equips students to understand and influence this rapidly changing world. Our professors are active in scholarly and public debates on domestic and international affairs, frequently on local and national news media. With our world under stress from globalization to political polarization, climate change to changing human geography, the department has never been more active, or its graduates more in demand.
