****Fighting to Find a Cure for Diamond Blackfan Anemia Syndrome**** The Diamond Blackfan Anemia Foundation, Inc. (DBAF), founded in 1994, has adopted the following mission statement: “to advance research initiatives that promote a better understanding, therapeutic strategies, and a cure for this rare bone marrow failure syndrome. We are dedicated to patient advocacy and providing support and education services to individuals, families, and medical professionals resulting in improvements in the diagnosis, clinical treatment, and management of the disorder, while enhancing the quality of life of affected families worldwide.” The DBAF is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation registered with the Charities Bureau of New York State Department of Law, 120 Broadway, New York, New York 10271. The DBAF funds medical research projects, which directly or indirectly benefit DBA syndrome patients and are approved by the DBAF’s medical/scientific advisory board comprised of medical doctors and scientists. The DBAF organizes meetings which bring together DBA syndrome patients, families, and world-renowned physicians. The DBAF provides informational literature to patients and their family members, health care professionals, and other interested parties. The DBAF networks DBA syndrome families throughout the United States, Canada, and worldwide. The mission of the Diamond Blackfan Anemia Foundation is to advance research initiatives that promote a better understanding, therapeutic strategies, and a cure for this rare bone marrow failure syndrome. We are dedicated to patient advocacy and providing support and education services to individuals, families, and medical professionals resulting in improvements in the diagnosis, clinical treatment, and management of the disorder, while enhancing the quality of life of affected families worldwide.
