Description
DLR administers all aspects of the NIH Extramural Loan Repayment Program (LRP) and provides support to application and payment activities for the NIH Intramural LRP. DLR maintains the online application system for the LRPs, screens applications for completeness and eligibility, coordinates payments to lenders on behalf of awardees, and conducts communication and outreach activities to raise awareness about the LRPs. Additionally, DLR is responsible for administering payback requirements for the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Awards (NRSA).
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Division of Loan Repayment (DLR) is to enhance the quality and diversity of the scientific community through incentives for biomedical and behavioral researchers and trainees. This is accomplished through the development and management of the congressionally mandated Loan Repayment Programs and the NRSA Payback Service Center.
VISION STATEMENT
The vision of the Division of Loan Repayment is to improve global health by promoting biomedical and behavioral research.
