Our Approach AT A GLANCE CDC aims to end HIV and Tuberculosis (TB) as global public health threats by 2030 using data-driven and evidence-based approaches that sustain and accelerate the lifesaving achievements from the past twenty years of the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). Decades of experience leading HIV and TB programs HIV and TB are the world's deadliest infectious diseases, with TB being the leading cause of death for people living with HIV. CDC has more than four decades of global HIV and TB experience and relationships, along with specialized scientific and technical expertise.
