INK provides a broad range of services to Kansas agencies and serves over half the Executive Branch agencies as well as over 400 local government entities. INK is the largest provider of payment processing to state and local agencies in the state of Kansas. With a focus on creativity and collaboration, INK provides secure digital solutions to agencies to improve interactions with the public. INK has a broad range of capabilities that include transforming paper-based systems to online solutions, making government data more accessible to individuals and businesses, payment processing, as well as a broad range of other innovative solutions such as appointment scheduling, website development, and multi-agency collaborative projects. Some examples of the solutions we provide to Kansas agencies include: - Online Marriage License Applications – Office of Judicial Administration - Amber Alerts – Kansas Bureau of Investigation - Scrap Metal Reporting System – Attorney General - Website – Governor’s Office - Kansas Law Enforcement Memorial – Kansas State Historical Society - Online Income Tax Filing – Kansas Department of Revenue - Kansas Business One Stop – Multiple Agency Collaboration LOur History: Kansas pioneered the development of e-Government for the nation with the creation of the Information Network of Kansas Inc. (INK) in 1990. In 1991, INK awarded Kansas Information Consortium, LLC the network manager contract and began eGovernment operations. The first service provided in 1991 was an e-mail service for subscribers. Other services were added to meet the needs of a growing computerized government and business audience. In 1994, INK offered a wide range of electronic services including legislative legal, banking, and educational services. INK launched the official state website for Kansas in January 1995. Kansas had one of the first state sites in the U.S. In 1999, hunting and fishing licenses were made available online. INK launched a new state portal with the name Access Kansas in 2000. In 2005, the portal was redesigned and renamed Kansas.gov. Over the years Kansas has launched many new and varied Web-based applications including business filings, professional license renewals and license verifications. Kansas.gov continues to add services and information to improve online access to Kansas government.
