NSW Architects Registration Board

The NSW Architects Registration Board is constituted by, and operates under, the [Architects Act 2003](https://www.architects.nsw.gov.au/about/architects-act-2003), the legislation regulating architects in NSW. We sit within the NSW Government Department of Customer Service and are responsible to the Minister for Better Regulation and Fair Trading, Minister for Building. We are a self-funded government regulatory body, totally funded by fees paid by NSW architects and architect corporations and firms. Our role The NSW Architects Registration Board is a self-funded government regulatory body that operates under the [Architects Act 2003](https://legislation.nsw.gov.au/view/html/inforce/current/act-2003-089). Our primary role is to protect consumers of architectural services. Our Board The Board comprises 6 members who are architects and 5 members who are not architects. Six of the members are appointed by the Minister. Our community The NSW ARB primarily serves consumers of architectural services, as well as architects and those pursuing a pathway to registration as an architect, and other stakeholder groups.
