****Our Mission:**** To address human trafficking by supporting and leading systems that prevent trafficking and protect survivors, helping them rebuild their lives and become self-sufficient. **Values** The Office on Trafficking in Persons (OTIP) operates under the values of the [Administration of Children and Families](https://www.acf.hhs.gov/about/acf-vision-mission-values) and the [Federal Strategic Action Plan on Services for Victims of Human Trafficking in the United States](http://www.ovc.gov/pubs/FederalHumanTraffickingStrategicPlan.pdf) (PDF). In addition, OTIP strives to be: - **Results-driven:** by evaluating our work with accountability, identifying effective strategies, and integrating them into our work - **Innovative:** by pursuing new ideas, adapting to changing environments, and experimenting with promising practices - **Collaborative:** by communicating transparently and considering different perspectives in order to coordinate trafficking response systems - **Informed:** by engaging with survivors and other stakeholders in the development of strategies, policies, and programs **OTIP forges pathways to freedom for victims and those at risk of trafficking by:** - Developing anti-trafficking strategies, policies, and programs to prevent human trafficking - Empowering health and human services to respond to human trafficking - Increasing victim identification and access to services - Strengthening health and well-being outcomes of survivors of human trafficking
