Description
In 2003 a group of local leaders came together to discuss the Peninsula’s many challenges and how a community foundation could help. Out of these first meetings was born the Peninsula Community Foundation.
MISSION
Provide individuals and organizations with opportunities to invest in the Virginia Peninsula and improve the quality of life for its citizens.
GOALS
- Build permanent resources to provide for our community’s continuing needs.
- Offer a range of charitable options for donors who wish to invest in our region in a lasting way.
- Manage charitable gifts in a prudent manner for the long-term benefit of the community.
- Assist area nonprofit organizations in building their endowment resources.
- Assemble and maintain a diverse and knowledgeable board of directors to govern the Foundation.
- Provide leadership to address important community needs or pursue new, progressive opportunities.
