Programme for the Protection of the Euro against Counterfeiting

**The mission of the Pericles IV programme is to prevent and combat counterfeiting and related fraud, thus enhancing the competitiveness of the Union’s economy and securing the sustainability of public finances.** The programme funds staff exchanges, seminars, training courses, studies and the purchase of equipment for third countries. It targets law enforcement and judicial authorities, banks and others involved in combating euro counterfeiting. Applications by the Member States' competent authorities - as defined in point (b) of Article 2 of Regulation (EC) No 1338/2001 - can be introduced to receive co-financing. The total budget allocated to the programme for the 2021-2027 period is € 6 million.
