**About Us** **Parent Society** **Mission Statement:** The Soil and Water Conservation Society fosters the science and the art of soil, water, and related natural resource management to achieve sustainability. We promote and practice an ethic recognizing the interdependence of people and the environment. **Vision Statement:** The Soil and Water Conservation Society is recognized and respected as an effective advocate for the conservation of soil, water, and related natural resources. SWCS members are committed, informed, effective conservation leaders. SWCS publications and education programs enhance the members’ knowledge by generating and sharing information about natural resources. The multidisciplinary membership blends science and art to create and convey vital conservation information to others. SWCS is a sought-after source of knowledge and objective information by researchers, practitioners, and analysts. Our international, national, and local models of interdisciplinary examination and action identifies new and effective answers to complex conservation issues. The Society anticipates emerging policy issues and is prepared to meet the changing needs of members. Milestones in conservation policy and practice reflect SWCS’s continuing contribution and leadership as an advocate for soil and water conservation. **Missouri Show-Me Chapter, SWCS** The physical boundaries of the Chapter are the same as the boundaries for the State of Missouri. The state is divided into two Chapter Areas: North and South (of the Missouri River). Membership in the Chapter is limited to persons who hold membership in the parent society and pay Chapter dues. The Mission and Vision of the Chapter are the same as those of the parent society.
