Description
The U.S. Mission in Brazil seeks to protect the well-being of U.S. citizens, represent U.S. interests, promote better bilateral relations, and foster friendship between the people of our two countries.
The U.S.-Brazilian relationship is rooted in our common democratic values, geography, and our shared social history. Brazil’s status as a stable and peaceful democracy, growing economic power, experience fighting extreme poverty, and abundance of natural resources give it influence regionally and internationally. We seek to work with the people and government of Brazil to achieve greater democracy, security, and economic progress in the hemisphere and beyond.
Besides the Embassy in Brasília, there are four consulates: Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo; an Embassy Branch Office in Belo Horizonte; as well as consular agencies in Fortaleza, Manaus, and Salvador.
