Washington Blueberry Commission

The Washington Blueberry Commission was formed under a marketing order from the Director of Agriculture in 1969, following Washington Agricultural Enabling Act of 1955. All growers in the state voted unanimously to form the commission and six commissioners were nominated to establish the commission. The commission serves as a touchstone for grower advocacy, research and best practices, and marketing for the hardworking growers and their 18,000+ planted acres across Washington State. The commission meets once each quarter to conduct business and at the spring meeting, all growers are invited to attend and review the activities that have taken place in the industry. The budget for the year is also presented and two commissioners are elected for a three-year term.
