Elliani Decker

I am a Research Administrator (focusing mainly on pre-award) for Southern Utah University's SPARC (Sponsored Programs, Agreements, Research, and Contracts) Office. Here I have led or co-led a variety of grants across all departments, searching for funding at the federal, state, local, and private level. I have also had the opportunity to attend regional and national conferences to learn more about the ins and outs of research administration. Within my role, I have also led discussions and trainings to teach faculty and staff about my office's ole. As an undergraduate student at Southern Utah University I studied English: Rhetoric and Writing with a minor in Spanish, graduating August 2022. I also tacked on a technical writing certificate and my TESL certificate. I graduated summa cum laude and was on the Dean's list 7 semesters. After a grant writing class, I also fell in love with writing proposals, and love this field. I am currently in my master's program at Southern Utah University, studying Public Administration. I am also the Advocacy Director for the Materna Foundation, where I work on budgeting and writing grants to help mothers and families in El Salvador. I love getting more experience with grant writing, research, and project management so that the Materna Foundation can continue to grow and help people move forward in their lives.
