Biography

I graduated from University of Nebraska Omaha with my Bachelor of Science in General Science, with minor focuses in Biology and Bioinformatics. Prior to attending UNO, I studied at Briar Cliff University. While attending there I had the honor of conducting immunological and cell biology research, even attending an REU at the University of Iowa as a freshman in 2016 conducting a summer research project on the RSV virus. I pursued graduating from the Honors Program at UNO and conducted an independent senior research thesis in behavioral neuroscience, studying the ability of zebrafish (Danio rerio) to distinguish discreet pattern differences in conditioned place aversion conditioning paradigms. I am continuing my graduate level education at UNO and am expanding my honor’s thesis to study the discreet differences in the ability to fear learn between subjects with different stress coping styles. Additionally I am interested in the genetic component of fear learning and how it can relate to PTSD in humans.
