Biography
Subhajit Chakraborty, Ph.D. is a tenured Associate Professor of Management and Decision Sciences in the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a focus on operations management from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley; a P.G.D.M. (MBA) from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, India; and a Bachelor of Engineering (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, India. Subhajit is a practitioner turned academician with 11 years of experience in operations, supply chain and information technology domains with experience as an expatriate. He is a certified PMP since 2003 and a senior member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ). His research interests include service quality along firms’ supply chain, service design, outsourcing and lean healthcare operations. For his research, Subhajit has won both practitioner awards such as the 2022 Gryna award; and academic awards such as the James P. and Elizabeth R. Blanton Distinguished Research Award 2022 from E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration, Coastal Carolina University; the Best Student Paper award in the DSI 2015 conference; and the Emerald/EFMD’s Highly Commended Award in 2015 in the Operations Management category. His recent works have been published in several journals—in operations and supply chain management (OSCM), in health care management (HCM), as well as in the broader management domain.
