Biography

Jonathan Nichols-Pethick is an associate professor of media studies in the Department of Communicaiton and Theatre. He also serves as the director of the Film Studies program and as the Faculty Development Coordinator. Prof. Nichols-Pethick primarily teaches courses in film and media studies, including: Media, Culture & Society (COMM 233), Television Producion (COMM 236), Film & Culture (COMM 237), and Media Criticism (COMM 334). He also frequently teaches the first-year colloquium for the Media Fellows Program. His research interests include media history, media institutions, and genre analysis. He is the author of the book TV Cops: The Contemporary American Television Police Drama (Routledge 2012) as well as several essays on contemporary television
