Biography

Research Dr. Cork is interested in digital imaging and 3-D reconstruction. He is currently collaborating with Dr. Ray Gasser on the Virtual Human Embryo Project. As part of this project he has developed software for the display of human embryo serial sections on CDs and DVDs and has reconstructed these embryos. Animations and 3D reconstructions are collected together on the HEIRLOOM website, which aims to increase the educational and research value of the Carnegie collection of serially sectioned human embryos (http://virtualhumanembryo.lsuhsc.edu). Some of Dr Cork's previous research projects are described on his Research Pages.
